Taiwan Studies Invited Speaker
We were delighted to welcome Prof. Ann Heylen from Taiwan Normal University who gave an fascinating talk on Taiwan Studies. We had a wide range of attendees and we hope this is just the beginning of our research exchange with Taiwan Normal.
Dr. Ann Heylen is Associate Professor in the Graduate Institute of Taiwan Culture, Languages and Literature (TCLL) at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), Taipei, Taiwan (2008 -) and currently serves as director of the International Taiwan Studies Center of NTNU. She is one of the founding board members of the European Association of Taiwan Studies (EATS) and on the editorial panel of the e-journal International Journal of Asia-Pacific Studies (IJAPS), published by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang. Her areas of research expertise are the history of 17th Century Dutch Formosa, the Japanese colonial period and postcolonial historiography.
